The bathroom is very small maybe 8×10 at BEST.
It needs to be completly gutted.
Only half the bathroom will be tiled (floor and half the shower area)
I am supplying the fixtures, toilet, new tub, and tile.

I work for a general contractor in NJ, going by the info you have here, you probably are looking to pay around $6,000 or so, depending.

I have sanded cabinets that were stained dark brown and varnished to prep them for painting. I planned to paint them white but would lile to give them a more interesting look by adding some antiquing with glaze or stain. Does anyone know how to do this? Or where I can find information on how to do this? Appreciate any ideas!
You can either purchase glaze or wipe on gel stain or make your own glaze in any color you like, but burnt umber or burnt sienna are most often used in faux antique finishes. I make my own glazes to control the transperancy, open working time and depth of color. I mix one part water, one part acyrlic or latex paint and one part Floetrol. Floetrol gives you more open time to work the glaze into where you want to antique by extending dry time. Obviously, the more Floetrol you add, the longer the open, working time before it dries.
You can get Floetrol in the paint aisle at the home improvement stores.
You can apply the glaze using several techniques depending on the results you desire. I usually prefer to use a small chip brush in recessed areas and then wipe over it with a soft, lint free cloth. I usually apply the glaze where I want to accent raised or recessed moldings. Sometimes I even apply it all over a piece to tone down a base color and then reapply in areas of architectural interest. I always seal my pieces with a non-yellowing polyurethane to protect the work and make it easier to clean.

My friend referred me to this guy for 2 small bathroom remodels and vouches for him and his work. However, he’s not licensed, but he’s cutting me a deal and his bid is much lower than the other estimates I’ve gotten. Any suggestions when dealing with an unlicensed, uninsured contractor? Thanks!
i’m a lic. gen. contractor….there r very good unlic. contractors out there….but still if something goes wrong or someone gets hurt u dont have a leg to stand on! do this, Tell him because of the situation, or unless he ask, u can not pay him for anything up front or during, only until job is completed to ur satisfaction….if he runs from this idea ur better off to let him go! and dont give any money up front for material! if he doesnt have credit at the local building places, aka lowes, depot, then he is already standing on one leg and the other on a banana..

The next morning Natalie woke up with the usual. Morning sickness. She hopped off the bed and ran straight to the small bathroom not even bothering to knock.
“eewww Nat!” nick said with a mouth full of toothpaste.
“sorry.” she hovered over the toilet and hurled again.
“babe?” Joe said bursting through the door.
“cant a guy get some privacy here!” nick yelled throwing his arms in the air. “I need to spit!”
Joe glared at nick while Natalie hurled one more time. He walked over and held her hair while rubbing her back. He couldnt help but feel somewhat guilty and sorry or her. She wiped her mouth and leaned back against Joe.
“gross.” she mumbled and he laughed.
“Im sorry.” he said holding her tight.
“you should be.” she got up and went to brush her teeth. Joe walked out and offered to start breakfast for her. Breakfast that sounded good. She looked at her self in the mirror and looked kind of beat up. She had bags under her eyes, her skin was pale and she looked worn out.
“whatever happened to you get a glow when your pregnant.” she said to herself.
“yeah youre kind of lacking” she turned to see nick walk back into the bathroom.
“thats not nice.” she said.
“Im sorry.” he took a look at her tummy. “you’re starting to show.” She looked down and sure enough she had a small tummy. “people are gonna start talking.”
“I’ll just tell them Im bloated.”
“yeah…theyre totally gonna believe you only have gas.” nick shook his head and walked out with Natalie following close behind. They walked into the small kitchen area and scooted into the table.
“breakfast for my love.” Joe said handing her a bowl of cereal.
“wow…” Kevin said while texting, of course.
“uh…” Natalie felt that bubble in her stomach again. “excuse me” she got out and headed to the bathroom. Joe sighed and plopped down next to his brothers.
“way to go Joe. Even your cereal makes her wanna barf.” nick said sipping on his coffee.
“shut up nick.”
“hey shes starting to show.” Kevin stated.
I know. I told her and she said its ‘gas’” Kevin and nick both laughed.
“uh can we please not talk about my wife here.” Joe yelled.
“you know you two are going to have to get married. And fast.” Kevin said walking over to the sink. “she starting to show and people are going to start to talk.”
“dont worry about it. Dad told me the label wants us to hide her. Shes not allowed to walk around with us.”
“harsh.” Kevin said turning to Joe. “thats not cool.”
“yeah and when I told her she looked sad. But she said it was fine. And I know its not.”
“hang in there buddy. It will all work out.”
“I guess. We have to go get tuxes soon.” Joe got up and put the plate in the sink.
“so…” nick began. “whos gonna be your best man?”
Joe slowly turned around and looked at both of his brothers who were waiting for an answer.
“um…”
“you still havent picked!” Kevin yelled.
“uh sorry. Its not that easy!”
“well Sarah is Natalies maid of honor. There for, me, sarahs BOYFRIEND, automatically becomes the best man.”
“how is that even logical?” Kevin said looking at nick.
“its perfect logical.”
“THAT doesnt even make sense!”
“your face doesnt make sense!”
“GUYS!” Joe yelled and they both turned to him. “you’ll find out soon enough.”
“JOE!!!” Natalie screamed
Joe didnt even hesitate and ran towards Natalie. He saw her sitting in her bunk with her laptop. She looked scared. Almost semi shocked.
“baby whats wrong?” he asked scared.
She turned the laptop and waited for him to read it.
“oh crap.”
